Commit to Safe Driving in Glendale Heights
In Glendale Heights, safety starts with each of us. The Teal Dot Pledge is a community-wide pledge to make our streets safer for everyone. From drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists, let's keep our heads up and eyes on the road. A single second of a distraction can have tragic consequences. So, let's take the pledge for safe driving in Glendale Heights!
Teal is not only the Village brand color, but it represents awareness, responsibility and care. It is a reminder that driving is a responsibility, and every vehicle that takes the Teal Dot Pledge represents someone who cares about protecting our community.
On July 24, 2025, the daughter of Glendale Heights Village President Rebecca Giannelli was struck by a vehicle while riding her bike. The driver slowed at a stop sign-but didn't come to a full stop-leading to the accident. Thankfully, her injuries were not life-threatening, but she walked away with a broken arm and a powerful reminder of how quickly things can go wrong.
Each teal dot represents a promise:
Together, we're building a culture where safe driving isn't the exception-it's the expectation.
