Early Childhood Activities

Half Pint Hoop Stars (Ages 4-6)

Learning the wonderful game of basketball can never start too early. With our smaller basketballs and shorter hoops, your young one will learn the basics of dribbling, shooting and defense. Please have your child dress in appropriate athletic wear and shoes.

Half Pint Soccer Stars (Ages 4-6)

Come and hone your skills so you can dominate in our indoor soccer league! Kids will get an introduction to the game of soccer including: basic rules, dribbling, passing and shooting while completing basic drills and playing mini games.

Tiny T-Ball (Ages 3-5)

It's time to team up with Mom or Dad in this pint-sized T-Ball class. We will use soft baseballs and scaled down equipment to begin developing your child's fine motor skills. Throwing, catching, base running and batting will be taught throughout the program. A fun game will be played at the end of each class. Class will be held at the Americana Park ball field (inclement weather, class will be held at the Sports Hub).

Sports of All Sorts (Ages 4-6)

It is never too early to have your child get involved in sports. Teaching them teamwork and skills at an early age can help them develop confidence for the future. Your child will be introduced to a new sport each week. Parents are welcome to participate with their child. Class is held at the Sports Hub.

Robo Launch Adventure (Ages 4-5)

Hands-on fun and excitement abound as your children build their own robots using an infrared controlled robo-vehicle construction set. First we build them and then we make them go, go, go!

Beginning FUN-gineering (Ages 4-5)

Young engineers will build working models of simple machines such as a seesaw, a rolling vehicle, and hockey player using Lego® Educational kits. Children will have a great time working on activities designed around creativity, exploring, investigating and problem solving in a fun group environment! While building these fun and interactive models, they will learn about levers, pulleys, gears, wheels and axles.

Youth Soccer Skill Development Academy (Ages 4-8)

Are you a parent who would like your child to progress in his/her game of soccer? Introducing our all new Youth Soccer Skill Development Academy. Whether your child is new to soccer or has already developed a love for the game, the progressive nature of this academy offers a place for players to improve their skills. Each Division focuses on development of the three major skills that are critical in every player's game. Players must bring a soccer ball to each class.

1st Division
Classes focus on development of foot-eye coordination through passing, dribbling, and kicking the ball. 1st Division classes will also introduce the basic concepts used in every part of the game of soccer.

2nd Division
2nd Division students will focus on the ball skills of trapping, heading and shooting. Some small-sided, non-competitive games will also be introduced to help development of game skills.

Premier Division
Premier Division classes will focus on more complex ball-handling skills. Game skills will include offensive and defensive techniques and an introduction to goal keeping. Some small-sided, non-competitive soccer games will also be played.
