Illinois State Fair

The Fair is filled with many exciting attractions and outstanding entertainment. Through the years, the Illinois State Fair has had one of the most extensive agriculture shows in the country. It is a place to congregate and learn the history of Illinois Agriculture. Currently, the fairgrounds cover 366 acres. The Illinois State Fair is legendary to Springfield and the State of Illinois. It provides many memories to the hundreds of thousands of visitors. Roaming through the beauty of the fairgrounds and experiencing the historic essence, visitors will make their own history at the Illinois State Fair.

Arlington Park Racetrack

Tempel Lipizzan Horses

Graceful white Lipizzan stallions are poetry in motion at Tempel Farms in Wadsworth. Styled after the shows at Vienna's Spanish Riding School, the Austrian stallions demonstrate the elegance of synchronized movements of horses and riders. You will be amazed by the performance's choreography and there will be time afterward to tour the stable. We will stop for lunch on your own at The Shanty supper club, featuring country ambiance and traditional American dishes.

Matinee and a Meal

We will travel to local movie theaters and restaurants for an afternoon of entertainment, food and socializing. Fee includes movie admission, lunch and transportation. Sign up for all three and receive $5 off.

Bristol Renaissance Faire

You will be transported back to a time when knights were noble, maids were merry, and turkey legs were titanic. The Bristol Renaissance Faire is on 30 wooded acres of permanent pubs, shops, and stages in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Watch out for the street-fighting escapades of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Stop at a stage featuring jousting knights on horseback, swashbuckling swordsmen, dancers, musicians, rope-walkers, jugglers and an eclectic assortment of comedic performers. Strolling minstrels, jesters and other era characters mingle with faire-goers and merchants sell everything from jewelry to books. The food selection is immense - you will find meals right out of England in the 1500s, international treats and so much more. Lunch is on your own.

Schaumburg Flyers Game

Don't miss the fun of a Schaumburg Flyers game in the afternoon! We'll cheer on the Flyers as they play the Joliet Jackhammers. Besides the excitement of the baseball game, you will love the on-field hijinks, mascot race and Flyers dance team. We have reserved seats, so you'll be close to the action!

Mozart & Mahler Symphony

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra presents the music of Mozart and Mahler. Gustav Mahler's most famous work, his 5th symphony, is breathtaking. Mozart's Serenade Number 6 is complex and beautiful. Before our afternoon filled with music, we will enjoy a talk with the conductor about the concert. Lunch is on your own at Al's Café, a casual, contemporary hot spot for sandwiches, burgers and malts.

Horseshoe Casino

Join us for a fun-filled Friday afternoon of casino action aboard the Horseshoe Casino. Fee includes transportation and a coupon worth $6 off your lunch buffet. NO REFUNDS. The bus will depart from the Sports Hub parking lot at 11:30 am, returning at 7:00 pm.

Senior Club Meetings

Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Every Wednesday, local seniors gather at the Sports Hub to socialize. Catch up on the latest program offerings including luncheons, dinner shows, trips, contests and games. Oh, did we mention…BINGO! Special dates feature birthday cake, hot dogs and other organized activities. Transportation available.

Senior Exercise

This 45 minute workout for the active senior (62+) is designed to promote cardiovascular fitness as well as strengthen and limber muscles and joints. Physician’s permission is recommended. Participants should wear gym shoes and loose comfortable clothing.

Rules of the Road

Senior Walking Club

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Come join other seniors and utilize our gym from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm week days. The gym will be open for seniors to stretch their legs with exercise and walking. This is a great opportunity to meet other seniors with similar interests. There is no fee, but we ask you to register the first time you come.

Senior Bingo & Bar-B-Que

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of Bingo and Bar-B-Que. The menu will include hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, potato salad, jell-o and watermelon. The only worry you will have is getting sauce on your bingo cards!
