Kid’s Karate Club (Ages 4-13)

Want to be the next Karate Kid? You can with The Kid's Karate Club Program. This progressive martial arts program teaches the basics in karate, self-defense, sparring and safety. This high energy program is specifically designed for children ages 4 through 14. Parents may participate with their children at no additional cost as part of our Parent Helper Program. Family involvement and respect are key elements, and children are encouraged and motivated to do their best in all aspects of their lives. Karate uniforms are required and are available from the instructor. There are many karate programs, but only one Kid's Karate Club – Be sure to ask for it by name – The Kid's Karate Club & Safety Program. For more information, check out www.kidskarate.com. Olympic Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do, one of the newest Olympic sports, is a 2,000-year-old martial art, offering a variety of benefits for people of all ages and physical abilities. Classes are taught under the direction of Grand Master Ki Hong Kim. A $45 Uniform fee is required at the first class. All colored belt students are required to have complete sparring gears. Classes are held at Spring Avenue Recreation Center, 185 Spring Avenue, Glen Ellyn.

Olympic Little Dragons (Ages 4-5)
In this class children learn how to warm up, cool down, and have fun while learning the fundamentals of Olympic Tae Kwon Do. This class focuses on developing balance, coordination, and respect for the discipline of martial arts training.

Fee: $75 resident/$85 nonresident

Early Olympic Tae Kwon Do (Ages 6-7)
This program has been designed to develop the kid’s coordination, listening skill, and self-confidence through creative activities. Olympic Tae Kwon Do techniques such as kicking, blocks and punches are taught in a controlled environment.

Parent/Child Olympic Tae Kwon Do (Ages 7 & Up with Parent)
This class is an excellent opportunity to share quality time with your child while improving physical and mental conditioning through cardiovascular drills, calisthenics, and Olympic Tae Kwon Do techniques including punching, kicking, and blocking.

Fee: $75 resident/$85 nonresident

Youth Olympic Tae Kwon Do (Ages 8-13)
This program includes a balanced cardiovascular workout, including punching, kicking, and blocking skills, based on the Olympic Tae Kwon Do style. Participants will improve coordination, power of concentration, balance, and both physical and mental discipline.

Adult Olympic Tae Kwon Do (High School & Older)
Restricted to high school students and older, this program concentrates on Olympic Tae Kwon Do techniques through the study of sparring and the skills of punching, kicking, and blocking. This is a great program for those looking to maintain and improve their physical fitness.

Self Defense for Women (Ages 13 & Up)

You've seen it on the news, you've read it in the papers; it is a violent world out there. But those are things that happen to other people - not to you - until one day it does happen to you. We don't want to scare you, we want you to be aware - no one is immune to violence. You have to be prepared - you have to have a plan. Learn the four levels of self defense; learn and practice practical techniques that anyone can use to defend themselves and avoid becoming another statistic. Wear appropriate, comfortable clothing; this is an active and inter-active class.
