The Committee consists of members who are appointed by the Village President, with the advice and consent of the Village Board. The Committee members are either residents of the Village or conduct business within the Village. The primary purpose of the Revitalization & Redevelopment Committee is to aid in the advancement of economic development within the Village.

The Committee meets on an as needed basis. The Committee reviews various reports from the Community Development Department to determine the potential for commercial development in specific neighborhoods, to explore possible locations for new businesses within the Village, and to identify areas requiring redevelopment. The Committee also makes contact with various business residents of the Village and works toward the retention of those businesses.
